No weeks left, just days. Today was my last Friday in Busia. After lunch, Sarah, a Kenyan manager on our team, gave me a package with a new kitenge - top and skirt outfit - that she had had made. Yesterday I went to a tailor to get measurements taken, and today I had a new suit! All of the Kenyans told me that I looked “smart.” :)
After work Sarah had a dinner for me at her house, inviting the whole dispenser scale-up team over as well as a few other people. The meal was very tasty, and afterward I had to give a speech… and after that, other people said nice things about me. It was sad, but sweet. And ‘m very glad that I will still be involved in the project from the US.
After dinner and some delayed taxi drivers, Eric & I came home and our house was finally reunited! All five of us back together for the first time in maybe six weeks. I laughed more tonight than I have in a long time. Tomorrow afternoon we are heading to the Kakamega Rainforest, at last. I’m pretty excited. Other than that, trying not to think about the fact that I leave SO soon.
