oh my. one of the things i am going to miss most when i leave here is the SKY. i just walked back from old house and the stars were SO bright and there was lightning in the distance and i kept staring up and almost tripping in my gum boots and making happy noises.

and last night! i went for a run on the airstrip at around.. 6pm. running in one direction, the sun was shining (blindingly!) and the sky was a beautiful blue… i turn to run in the other direction, and these epic clouds roll in and the sky turns grey and then the clouds are kind of greenish and are those sheets of rain that i see in the distance? and then a half mile later i turn around again and ah! sunset! blue sky again! it was just.. lovely. i never have my camera when things seem most amazing.

i have a favorite tree in busia… whenever i take a boda into town i look at it against the blue sky and it’s just beautiful and i need to remember a camera some day and take a picture before i leave… [which is in less than 6 weeks??! oh my.]
