on hiatus
well, i’m back in the US now, so my adventures in africa are on hold for a bit :)
but i’ll try to put up some pictures and other things when i have time…
it’s great to be back!
the last few days have been pretty great. between the homestay at monique’s, getting the pump to work at global, going for a run with a great view of Kili tonight, having a fantastic meal tonight, and making plans to see friends when i get back.. it’s been a solid end to the trip. i want to post pictures + details for these, but that may not happen until i am back in the US. tomorrow...

i’m going home in less than a week! [same flights as before, just 1 week earlier]
gotta say, i’m pretty ecstatic right now.
i really want to see my friends and be home.

it's ok!
Now I’ve got a project to keep me busy. I’m going to take ownership of the cell phone charger project for Global Cycle Solutions. It will help Jodie out, it’s a cool project, and I’ll feel useful. It will actually be similar to what I was doing in Kenya - Solidworks-ing, talking to manufacturers, etc. Cool.
what a downer. i feel like i need to post...
um. let’s see. jodie is back now which is cool. today i just stayed here to catch up with her and rest because i wasn’t feeling great. we washed our clothes! it was my first time ever washing clothes by hand i guess? it was kind of cool.
oh and last night i helped upendo make chapati for dinner and i beat the dough and today my arms are sore. that is hard work!! ate leftover chapati +...
annnnd the cost is ridiculous
like almost as much as the tickets cost in the first place. [i got a good deal, but still!]
but now my family is all excited that i might come home earlier. and i was excited to be able to see friends and have more time at home. this sucks. i almost cried when my sister told me how much it would cost to change the ticket.
and i can’t justify spending all that money, when it is more than...
i’m currently having my sister call the airline to see how much it will cost to have my flights switched to an earlier date… i don’t know if i’m just being weak or what, but i kind of just want to go home. my work is not very fulfilling at the moment - there just isn’t a ton to do and i don’t want to feel like i’m not using my time well. and it would be so...
